A Kenya Airforce Y-12 light transport aircraft crashed this morning in Marsabit with a total of 17 passengers and crew on board. Among the passengers were Government officials and a few civilians.

The Goverment has dispatched a medical rescue aircraft to the scene to assist in casualty evacuation and render any other necessary assistance. The Commissioner of Police has dispached the Director of Operations, Mr. David Kimaiyo to the scene.
