Police Headquarters welcomes the decision by the Chairman
of the Matatu Owners Association (M.O.A.), Mr. Simon
Kimutai and his counterpart in the Matatu Welfare Association
(M.W.A.), Mr. Dickson Mbugua, to urge their members
to comply with all the requirements of the law and engage
the Ministry of Transport and the Kenya Police in constructively
finding solutions for the problems ailing the transport
sector.
We shall always welcome dialogue provided there is
a general agreement that there cannot be a compromise
on matters of road safety and standards established
by law with the objective of safety on our roads and
the comfort of fare paying and other road users.
The two leaders have set a good example that should
be emulated by all.
