Traffic Police and the Kenya Police Motor Vehicle Inspection
Unit yesterday (11th September 2006 inspected 33 motor
vehicles that had been declared unroadworthy during
the crackdown. After inspection at the Unit Headquarters,
Likoni Road Nairobi, the following numbers of vehicles
were cleared:
• Matatus - 27
• Buses - 4
• Others(P/ups and vans) - 2
During yesterday’s continuing operations in Mombasa
at Central and Bamburi Police Stations, 37 vehicles
were inspected with the following results: -
• Un-roadworthy - 17
• Defective - 26
• Minor Defects - 4
• Compliant - nil
Records for the operations conducted during the weekend
have disclosed results as follows: -
