THE SOMALI POLICE GRADUATION PARADE AT KWS - MANYANI

 

The Commissioner of Police is inviting local and international journalists to cover the passing out parade for Somalia police officers at the Manyani Kenya Wildlife Service Field Training Camp on Friday 7th July 2006. The parade will be graced by the Minister of State in the Office of the President in charge of Internal Security and Provincial Administration, Hon. John Michuki, M.G.H., M.P. The high profile graduation is evidence of the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Kenya to regional peace-building efforts. Activities will precisely begin at 10.00 am on 7th July 2006.

The parade marks the graduation of 181 Somalia police officers who have successfully completed a three-month Kenya Police course on V.I.P. protection skills. The training is part of ongoing efforts to build on the gains from the peace building process and is aimed at restoring law and order in Somalia.

Top officials from the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia, our Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Kenya Police will be among distinguished guests during the auspicious occasion.

Manyani KWS Training Camp is within Tsavo East National Park off Mombasa Highway about 10 kms before Voi from the Nairobi direction.
