181 Somalia police officers have successfully completed a Kenya Police training programme at the Kenya Wildlife Service Training School, Manyani. The three-month training course has been under the auspices of Government of Kenya and the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD).

The training is part of ongoing efforts to build on gains from the peace building process aimed at restoring law and order in Somalia during which the Kenya Government has continued to play a key role.

The successful Somalia National Police officers will graduate on Friday 7th June 2006 in a colorful passing-out parade to be graced by the Minister of State in the Office of the President in charge of Internal Security and Provincial Administration, Hon. John Michuki.

The training programme was officially opened by the Commissioner of Police, Maj. Gen. Mohamed H. Ali, three months ago.
