A fatal road accident has occurred along the Mombasa road near Tsavo River at 6.30 a.m. A semi trailer belonging to Clean Well Products Limited was travelling from Mombasa transporting plastic materials in two containers.

The trailer collided with an oncoming bus belonging to Scandinavian Express Limited that was travelling to Malindi. 13 people were killed on the spot, 14 were injured and 6 were treated and discharged. The dead have all been taken to Moi Voi District Hospital mortuary and are awaiting identification. The two vehicles were extensively damaged.
