| Following
the decision of the government to allow a procession
organized by University of Nairobi Students organization
(SONU), Kenya Police expects SONU leaders to prevail
upon their members to be peaceful and not to engage
in any criminal activity or conduct themselves in a
manner that will prejudice the rights of other citizens

also been drawn to the activities of certain criminal
groups including Mungiki who have planned to hijack
the student procession and use the opportunity to unleash
violence on law abiding citizens, obstruct traffic,
cause a bleach of the peace and engage in looting. Police
have put measures in place to ensure that any lawlessness
is firmly dealt with. Consequently students are advised
to remain within the routes and timings agreed upon
between Police and the student leaders.
