Commissioner of Police Major-Gen. H. Ali, MGH, MBS, congratulates Kenya Police Athletes who participated during the 16th African Senior Championships held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 27th April, 2008 to 5th May, 2008. The Kenya police formed 50% of the national team. Out of the sixteen medals won by the National Kenya Team, 8 were won by police officers.

The following officers won the medals as shown below.

GOLD

1. Richard Matelong - 3,000M St
2. Pamela Chelimo - 800M

SILVER

1. Joyce Sakari – 4x400M Relays
2. Pamela Chelimo - 4x400M Relays
3. Isaac Songok - 5,000M

BRONZE

1. Grace Momany - 10,000M St Chase
2. Ruth Bosibori - 3,000M St Chase
3. Willy Komen - 3000M St Chase

Since the days of Chief Inspector Kipchoge Keino, Kenya Police has remained at the forefront of our national athletic tradition.

We are proud of all the policemen and women who have persistently carried the Kenya flag high in athletics. We are confident they will rise even higher during the oncoming summer Olympics in Beijing china.
