Police Headquarters would like to inform the public that in accordance with the Kenya Police Reform Framework Policy and the Kenya Police Strategic Police Strategic Plan (2004-2008) which recommended that the ratio of police to population be increased as a matter of priority, arrangements for the Kenya Police and the Administration Police to recruit police officers from National Youth Service trainees and graduates are at an advanced stage.

The recruitment from the NYS is intended to give the Police Force an opportunity to recruit candidates who are already trained and have a tested discipline record. The training exposure given to NYS graduands and servicemen will enable police instructors accord the candidates significant credit hours hence a shorter training period.

The public is also informed that the normal recruitment exercise to fill vacancies created by natural attrition will be going in the designated recruitment centers later in the year.
