ELECTORAL VIOLENCE: PROSECUTIONS PROGRESS

Following the tumultuous incidents in various parts of the country, Kenya Police has embarked on thorough investigations to identify all those who committed crimes of murder, arson, looting, preparation to commit a felony by carrying dangerous weapons etc.

We therefore wish to inform the public of the progress made so far in respect of Rift Valley Province. 191 suspects have been taken to court and 77 case files are to be forwarded to the AG for advice. There are ten cases pending arrest of known accused persons.

As the situation returns to normal, Kenya Police is urging the public to keep peace and endeavor to promote good order wherever they are. The public is urged to avoid all situations that put to risk the normalcy achieved so far.
KENYA Police is once again assuring the public that we shall continue vigorously executing our mandate to maintain law and order.
