Police is focused on stabilization of security in all
the areas affected by the recent criminal mayhem. The
intention is to provide an environment for full resumption
of the social and economic activities in these areas.
INCIDENTS
IN THE LAST 24 HOURS
Kisumu
Police in Kisumu received a report
that a rowdy gang had erected illegal road barriers
and were robbing motorists. Police cleared the road
and by 09:00 hours traffic was moving smoothly.
Elburgon
Police at Elburgon Police station
received a report that raiders had a Kandutura village
and set 8 residential houses on fire. One elderly man
by the name Moses Mbugua Kariuki aged about 86 years
was killed and unknown number of livestock stolen.
ARRESTS
Police investigations are underway
and we have made 12 new arrests in the last 24 hours.

TRANSPORT
The roads have been clear for the
last 24 hours. There was one incidence where a Petroleum
Oil tanker convoy from Kisumu to Isebania was attacked.
Police escorts engaged the attackers who ran away. The
police vehicle was slightly damaged but the convoy proceeded
safely.

50,000 CASH REWARD - RAILWAY
TRANSPORT
Whereas Railway transport has never
been quite affected by electoral violence, there has
been a sharp increase of cases of vandalism, destruction
of property and outright sabotage. Kenya Police is therefore
offering a reward of Kshs 50,000/=
to any person who gives information which will lead
to the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators of
this crime. Person wishing to give the information can
