ATHI RIVER SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police Headquarters wishes to confirm that preliminary investigations indicate that one of two gangsters shot dead at a residential area at Athi River is indeed the vicious gangster Simon Matheri Ikere. Matheri had been on the run after police identified him as a notorious gangster wanted over a series of murders and robberies within Kiambu District, Kitengela and Nairobi.

His latest atrocity was the brutal murder of a businessman and his son at Ondiri in Kikuyu Division, Kiambu District during a characteristically violent robbery spree. He hails from Gachie in Kiambu District and has been known to have residences in Gachie, Githunguri, Kitengela, Ngong and Athi River.

However, Police Headquarters wishes the public to know that there shall be no let up in the war against violent crime until all wanted gangsters have been apprehended and brought to justice. In this regard, we are still appealing to the public to continue sharing information with the police on criminals and criminal activities.

Anybody with such information is requested to kindly report to the police in person or through the following numbers:
• Director of CID - Tel: 020-512090
• Nairobi Area Police Headquarters - Tel: 020-2724154
- Mobile: 0721 233999
• Provincial and Divisional Police Headquarters in other areas

Persons can also report to the nearest police station or reach Police Headquarters through the Kenya Police Website: www.kenyapolice.go.ke or through the following email addresses: info@kenyapolice.go.ke.

Any information received will be promptly acted on and will be treated with total confidentiality.

Help keep Kenya Safe – Play your role and pass information on criminals and criminal activities to the police for a safer Kenya.

Thank you for supporting the Kenya Police.
